Several people have been asking me where the nick name that I use "DragonEye" comes from ... here, my friend, is the answer ... this is one of the endings from the book ... explaining DragonEye. (yes one of the endings ... as of this time the book is untitled)

"You want proof do you ...", Jerry looked Fonof in the eyes and started talking in a monotone expressionless voice:

"Hello Stuart, this is a test for you, Hoping to provide constant voice, please stay clear of the lines and remove all cigarettes from the ashtrays."

Then in a regular voice, "That was the message being sent on a sub-carrier of Glaxy2 to operatives in the country of billions a few years ago. I believe you were involved in the decision to have that message sent."

Fonof while practiced at never showing emotion showed a split second of shock as no one except crypto clearance and above should have had knowledge of the pullout message. Even though he wanted to ask how he simply stared blankly at Jerry.

Jerry smiled and said "You want to know how I knew that."

Walking back and forth in front of the chair never breaking eye contact. "There are a great many things that I know. I know you already suspect how or you would not have gone to so much trouble and cost so many people their lives to find me."

"You should have figured out that none of us wanted to be found when your group was transmitting the messages on various harmonics of brain wave frequencies giving a phone number and location asking ... well ... towards the end it was a little more like begging ... for anyone that could hear your message to respond."

Jerry leaned over at Fonof with their noses almost touching, with a very hostile, raised voice and hitting Fonof's chest firmly with his fore finger, "THE FACT NO ONE RESPONDED SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT EITHER WE DID NOT EXIST OR THAT WE DID NOT WANT TO BE FOUND!"

Backing away and resuming his pacing

"But you could not accept your only defeat... Noooo ... The mighty researcher Doctor Fonof the Great ... FAILED a project he promised the government. What a shame."

Stopping directly in front of Fonof

"For what it is worth your messages were very annoying and had you been doing research for the sake of knowledge rather than for Government and Business espionage we might have responded. Even though you were offering quite a lot ... the price that would have been asked of us was simply to high."

After a moment of silence again walking back and forth in front of Fonof , "You nick named me DragonEye in reference to the third 'eye' several ancient myths referenced regarding some dragon's ability to read the minds and communicate to ALL creatures ... According to you the dragons were evil ... According to the stories I read those dragons were very wise and tried to help all people to grow and learn to take care of the world that they shared. But the humans of the day were afraid of anything that could read their thoughts, especially the evil leaders that had hidden agendas. Thus, the leaders had their knights hunt the dragons until all were destroyed. The dragons not wanting to kill decided that the ultimate revenge would be to allow the humans to lose the knowledge and wisdom they could have shared. They knew that until the greed and hostile nature of the human race changed that anything that they shared would be abused and that the knowledge would only speed the destruction of the earth."

After a moment of thinking Jerry continued, "It is very sad that, as a whole, we have not progressed in several thousand years."

Jerry finally sat down directly in front of Fonof. Both men were very quite and motionless, not even blinking. After a few moments Jerry started to turn pale as a corpse. Fonof's eyes & face looked as though he was seeing things from levels of Hades that no person throughout all of time had ever imagined existed. After several minutes Jerry fell back into his chair.

Janet and Venofski moved from behind Fonof to catch Jerry as he started to fall into the floor.

"What did you do to him?" Janet asked.

"I started to destroy his mind", Jerry responded weakly.

Fonof stood, turned and started walking towards the door with the look of a zombie.

Venofski started to grab him.

"No." Jerry whispered "Let him go."

"But he knows where to find us and who were are.", Venofski said, with a great deal of stress in his voice.

"Yes, he does." Jerry whispered, "But he will never be able to tell anyone, write it down or show anyone ... only think about it. And then only when he is alone. The rest of the time it will be a blank memory."

"Maybe as he has time to think about everything he has done ... maybe he will help the world remember what we lost long ago and see what we are doing, rather than helping to destroy it.", Jerry said as he drifted into unconsciousness.

Jerry still looked as pale as a corpse ... no one was sure if he would wake up.
