Is there a trend to take God and/or His authority out of The Bible?

There are so many different versions of The Bible available. Some are very good translations/versions, on the other hand there are others that are such poor quality that it truly amazes me that anyone wasted the time, effort, the paper or the disk space to publish and print them.

Then there are those that try to come up with reasons that so many less than reliable translations are on the market. Some even go to great lengths to try to prove a 'conspiracy theory' that there has been a push over the years to remove God and/or His authority from The Bible. The groups usually compare two or three Bibles to each other and say they have proved their point.

When it comes to such things I try to be like the people from Berea when Paul and Silas were teaching in their synagogue, the people of Berea listened the unique and different teachings of Paul with an open mind. However after he finished talking would go and search the scriptures to see if Paul's words were true. (Paraphrased from: Acts 17:10-12)

Or more simply stated:

Proverbs: 14:15:
The simple believeth every word:
but the prudent man looketh well to his going. (KJV)
Or put another way.
A simple man believes every word he hears;
a clever man understands the need for proof. (New English Bible 1970)

The conspiracy groups claim that this change to push God out of The Bible has been happening slowly for many years. If this is a true statement I would hypothesize that we should be able to see a consistent and definite pattern in the different bible versions over the years.

So to test this idea I have collected several different bibles and selected what I suspect are three of the most well known sections of The Bible from each, for chronological comparison. The three sections being:

Psalms 23
John 3:16 (for comparison reference using John 3:14-17)
And
The Lord's Prayer (for comparison reference using Matthew 6:5-14)

I have left the spelling the same as it is shown in the copies of the text that I have. This also makes it interesting to see the standardization of spelling and syntax that took place over the years. For instance the standardization of u's and v's to how we use them today.

For this test I selected 31 English translation Bibles with publish dates ranging from 1568 to 2005. As I was collecting all the text and organizing it for these pages. Though it is gradual and subtle I did notice a trend/pattern that appears to be forming. While I will not go so far as to say there is some intentional evil conspiracy at work, as much as it pains me to say it, there does seem to be a tendency/trend of lowering/reducing Our Creator's status, His Power and His Glory as the years progress. This did not happen in all of the versions but there were enough where the changes occurred that it did get my attention. Granted I am only comparing three sections of only a few of the many different bibles printed over the years. But if the publisher's would change these sections, one has to wonder what they would do to other less quoted areas of The Bible and how they would change what the nature of Our Lord really is.

There are few people who doubt that The Devil has false teachers creating chaos and confusion in the world as well as our churches. However, it surprises me how few people believe that there are also false/corrupted bibles being used by the minions of The Devil. Sadly with some of the unwitting 'minions' sincerely believing they are teaching from the true/honest translations of scriptures given by Our Lord.

I have always said that there are some Bible translations that are not worth the paper they are printed on (especially the ones that Lower the status of Our Lord while also raising the status of Lucifer, the Devil himself). However what truly scares me is how many groups are starting to accept those very bibles as being the authentic Word of God rather than the corrupted teachings and writings of false apostles, deceitful workers, pretending to be the apostles of Christ. But we will save that discussion for another page.

For now all I ask is that you simply take a look at the comparison pages and see if you notice any trends. I have not altered the text, spellings or punctuations of any of the translations (other than removing foot note indicators) in an attempt to keep the lists as unbias as possible.

Below are the three sections I used.

Psalms 23

John 3:16 (for comparison reference using John 3:14-17)

The Lord's Prayer (for comparison reference using Matthew 6:5-14)
